Hi, re: tanks of the 60's/70's, when I joined 5 Innis DG in 1965 in Aden and Bahrain, the Regiment had Centurion's. We then changed to wheeled AFV's for 1966, I went with A Sqn 5 Innis DG to Cyprus for 2 years using Mk2 Ferret's, the rest of the Regiment went to north Africa.
The Regiment was wheeled at Weeton Camp 1968, then I had a posting to the IHU at HMS Daedalus. When I got back to the Regiment in 1970 they had changed back to tracked and they had Chieftain's. because I was still wheeled I went to Recce troop at York Barracks Munster.
